Flaming Lips Covering Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon

The Flaming Lips
We don't know why this hasn't happened yet because it makes total sense, but The Flaming Lips are set to cover Pink Floyd's 1972 classic album, The Dark Side Of The Moon and record and release the entire thing.

The Flaming Lips announced their intent to cover the album during a question-and-answer session at a show on Thursday night in Los Angeles. The band are collaborating with Stardeath and White Dwarfs on the release, which will feature guest appearances from former Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins and Peaches, and may end up only being released to iTunes.

There's no word on when The Flaming Lips' version of The Dark Side Of The Moon will be out, but we expect it to sound even more like an acid trip than the original.

The Flaming Lips just released their 12th studio album, Embryonic, and will play these dates in support of it:

Oct. 18 San Francisco, CA @ Treasure Island Music Festival
Nov. 1 New Orleans, LA @ City Park (Voodoo Experience)
Nov. 9 Brussels, Belgium @ L'Ancienne Belgique
Nov. 10-11 London, England @ Troxy
Nov. 13 Portsmouth, England @ Guildhall
Nov. 15 Glasgow, Scotland @ O2 Academy Glasgow
Nov. 16 Manchester, England @ Manchester Academy
Nov. 17 Birmingham, England @ O2 Academy Birmingham
