Bill Cosby Releasing Rap Album

Bill Cosby
Bill Cosby doesn't just make comedy or musical parody albums anymore.

The comedian has announced he'll release a "socially-conscious" hip-hop record, Bill Cosby Presents The Cosnarati: State Of Emergency, digitally on Tuesday and to stores on Nov. 24.

Before you think Cosby's some kind of closeted gangsta rap fan, think again, because there won't be any swearing or lyrics referencing violence on the record.

"I don't like referring to the music as clean," Cosby says. "What I like is what you're not going to do. You're not going to curse. You're not going to put women down. You're not going to put the glory of the gun somewhere. And you're not going to put a whole lot of violence up front like that's the thing that will cleanse you and make you feel better."

Cosby doesn't rap on State Of Emergency, and instead came up with the ideas for its songs. It's been produced by William "Spaceman" Patterson and features the rhyming talents of Jace The Great, Brother Hahz and Supa Nova Slom. Miles Davis, Alicia Keys, LL Cool J and Eric Clapton can reportedly be heard "throughout the project."
