Oasis singer
Liam Gallagher has officially confirmed that the band no longer exist.
Gallagher told Britain's
Times newspaper that the band are "no longer" and are "done" and he's thinking about what his next musical move will be.
"Oh, I know [Oasis are done]," he said. "Without a doubt. And it's a shame but that's life. We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is, no one... we ended Oasis. No one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of... cool. I'm thinking of what the next step is musically, which is all my mind's on."
There was talk of Oasis continuing without guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher, who
left the band earlier this year following yet another backstage fight with his brother. But that looks like it's not going to happen now.
Oasis had a rift-filled 2009. Earlier this year, Noel Gallagher said he wanted to release a
solo album following Oasis' tour for last year's
Dig Out Your Soul. Liam Gallagher did not take kindly to this revelation, but had eventually
conceded it would probably happen right before Noel Gallagher left the band.
For now, Liam Gallagher's busy promoting his Pretty Green
clothing line, which launched earlier this year. He's also recently become big on
bees.
