Wilco Announces 2010 "Trans Canada" Tour Dates

A day after Wilco said they would launch a 2010 "Trans Canada" tour, they've confirmed the dates.

The band will also have a handful of dates in the northwestern U.S. at the same time, beginning with a Feb. 7 stop in Missoula, Mt.

According to the band's website, Wilco will open the 2010 Canadian portion of the tour — as speculated — in Vancouver with a free show as part of the Winter Olympics "Live City" festivities on Feb. 13 at David Lam Park.

The group will then head east with eight additional Canadian stops wrapping up in Halifax on Mar. 3. Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Montreal, Ottawa, Hamilton, Ont. and London, Ont. are the other stops on the "Trans Canada" journey.

Tickets prices have not been set but Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon shows have a pre-sale set for Oct. 14 with the public on-sale on Oct. 16. Hamilton, London, Ottawa and Halifax have the pre-sale set for Oct. 21 with the public on-sale date of Oct. 23. Montreal's pre-sale is set for Oct. 21 but no public on-sale date has been announced.

No support act has been confirmed for the tour yet.

Wilco perform two shows next week at Toronto's Massey Hall as part of their North American trek.
