Fans of old school Brit-pop are about to poop in their Ben Sherman jeans.
Former Stone Roses singer Ian Brown and ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr are working together to write music on the soundtrack to a television show. Brown told BBC News there's a chance ex-Stone Roses bassist Mani and former Happy Mondays bassist Paul Ryder could get involved, too. The show is being written by a mutual friend of Brown and Marr.
"The idea is that Johnny writes the music and I write the words and the melodies," Brown told BBC News. "One of the [episodes is] about ticket touts, another one's about grafters — kids who sell T-shirts and things like that — and another one's about pickpockets.
"We're going to get together and do the soundtrack for these dramas. We'd have to bring a drummer or a bass player in."
Brown played a show at London, England's Relentless Garage on Monday and covered The Beatles' "All You Need Is Love." Here's a video of that:
