Faces Reunite... Sort Of

The Faces

That long rumoured Faces reunion looks set to go ahead for one show — without singer Rod Stewart, that is.

Guitarist Ronnie Wood, keyboardist Ian McLagen and drummer Kenney Jones will play a one-off show at London, England's Royal Albert Hall on Oct. 25. Obviously, they won't have bassist Ronnie Lane with them, either, since he passed away in 1997.

BBC News reports the show will be a benefit gig in support of the Performing Right Society's Music Members' Benefit Fund and will feature appearances from ex-Spice Girl Mel C, Simply Red's Mick Hucknall and Kiki Dee.

"This will be so special for us, staging a reunion for such a wonderful and prestigious event," Wood told BBC News. "Sadly, Ronnie Lane can't be with us, but I'm sure he will be there in spirit, God bless him."

Lane, McLagan and Jones formed The Faces from the ashes of Small Faces after singer/guitarist Steve Marriott left to form Humble Pie in 1969. They added Wood and Stewart from The Jeff Beck Group to finalize the lineup.

The Faces split up in 1975, after releasing four albums, and Stewart's solo career has been the brunt of many jokes since.
