Synth pop singer/songwriter Gary Numan appeared with Nine Inch Nails at some of the band's final live gigs, and now he's set to collaborate with NIN frontman Trent Reznor.
Numan told U.K. online music publication The Quietus that he and Reznor could write and record some material shortly.
"I know [Reznor] wants to carry on doing music things," Numan told the website.
Numan doesn't expect to be recording with Reznor any time soon, though, since Reznor is set to wed former West Indian Girl singer Mariqueen Maandig soon.
"I think he's going to be pretty busy for a while, so it'll either be later this year or early next."
Numan told the website the duo would probably just write "a few songs to start with and [we'll] see how it goes on." He did say he thought it would "be cool," though.
Numan also said he was touched when Reznor stopped one of the reunion shows and told the crowd just how much Numan had influenced his music. Nonetheless, he says he was unsure what to say.
"You don't want to be really, really humble, because it looks as if you don't appreciate it, and you don't want to be going 'oh yes' because it looks like you're full of yourself. It was really awkward."
You can see Numan at these shows:
