Toronto-based hardcore/metal band Cancer Bats have titled their forthcoming album Bears, Mayors, Scraps And Bones. It should be out in early 2010.
Vocalist Liam Cormier previously told Rock Sound magazine the new record would sound like, "Glenn Danzig going on a camping trip with Black Flag's Greg Ginn, a reanimated Vincent Price and the Beastie Boys. It will sound like those people sat round a campfire telling ghost stories."
He has since modified his statement. He told the magazine Bears, Mayors, Scraps And Bones sounds like what would happen "if Danzig was to put on a house party and a bunch of drunken dinosaurs dressed up like bikers showed up!
"I think the record in our opinion sounds like biker metal or driving music, so maybe this record is now more if were driving to the camp with Danzig and Beastie Boys!"
The band are recording their new album in Canada, and have told fans to expect a "brutal sludge masterpiece."
Cancer Bats' Hail Destroyer made the long list for the 2008 Polaris Music Prize.
The band will begin a tour this fall in the U.K. as the main support for Billy Talent.
