Polaris Nominees Caught In Mid-Show Food Fight

Lost amidst all the excitement of Fucked Up winning the 2009 Polaris Music Prize last night was the fact that a massive food fight started between the nominees right before the winner was announced.
Earlier in the evening, the members of Quebec prog act Malajube told CHARTattack they really didn't want their provincial mates in Patrick Watson to win a second Polaris award. That tension seemed to spill over right after Fucked Up wrapped up the last live performance of the night.
As soon as the house lights in the Masonic Temple went back up during the pause before the winner was announced, a flurry of plastic cups started flying between Malajube and Patrick Watson's respective nominee tables.
Polaris Music Prize gala co-host Grant Lawrence shouted, "Food fight!" and soon K'Naan's table got in on the action, with most other nominees following suit in a hail of cups, food bits, pitchers of water, flying spoons and other ridiculousness.
Here's a shot our photographer John Papamarko caught of some culprit in mid-water jug toss:
Note K'Naan's enjoyment of the moment on the far left, the water bomber in the middle and the very, very, very irritated CTV Security employee in the white shirt on the right.
