Drummers don't often get their own iPhone applications, but Apple is aiming to change that with their first InstantDrummer: Heartbreaker iPhone application featuring
Death Cab For Cutie's
Jason McGerr.
Death Cab fans with iPhones can now download the
InstantDrummer: Heartbreatker application, which lets them use McGerr's drum tracks to build drum loops. There are different options for gain, variation, intensity and ambiance, and the application costs $2.99 U.S. ($3.21 Canadian) McGerr recorded the drums for the application at his Two Sticks Audio studio.
Apple is apparently planning to release a series of
InstantDrummer: Heartbreaker iPhone applications. I think Tool's Danny Carey should get one... but wouldn't it be impossible to drum along to?
Death Cab For Cutie's "Meet Me On The Equinox," the first
single from the
New Moon soundtrack, can be heard on their
MySpace page right now.
You can see Death Cab frontman Ben Gibbard and Son Volt singer/guitarist Jay Farrar playing these shows in support of their Jack Kerouac
