Pavement will reunite in 2010, according to Brooklyn Vegan.
The music blog cites "reliable sources" in a report that states the much-loved Stockton, Calif. indie rock band will play "multiple, possibly four" nights at New York City's Central Park Summerstage. One of those is said to be a benefit show on Sept. 21. The website reports Pavement could also tour next year and may make an "official comeback" at the 2010 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
Nothing's for sure yet and Pavement have made no official statement about any reunion.
There's been speculation about Pavement reuniting before. Guitarist Scott Kannberg said in 2006 that the band could reunite for their 20th anniversary this year, and said the same thing last year.
Pavement began in 1989 as a studio project between singers/guitarists Stephen Malkmus and Scott Kannberg. They released a series of EPs before their Slanted & Enchanted debut in 1992. It was followed by four more albums before the band split up in 2000.
