Black Keys Start Rap-Rock Project

Blakroc, The Black Keys' rap-rock side project (yes, seriously) will release an album on Nov. 27.

The act's self-titled debut features appearances from Mos Def, Jim Jones, RZA, Raekwon, Pharoahe Monch, Ludacris, Q-Tip and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, among others. It will be released through the Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney's own Blakroc label, which they've set up to handle it. No tracklist has been announced for Blakroc yet, but it's said to feature 11 tunes.

Auerbach released his Keep It Hid debut solo album earlier this year, and Carney's Drummer side project are set to launch a tour this October. The Black Keys have also started working on the follow-up to last year's Attack & Release, but we're betting it's not going to be out this year because of those side projects and tours.
