The Wavelength Music Series will move to a new home on Oct. 4.
The legendary Toronto indie showcase will move to The Garrison on Dundas Street West near Ossington Avenue. The area is home to other venues like the Dakota Tavern, Rolly's Garage and the Lula lounge.
Wavelength will complete its run of 500 shows at The Garrison from October to February 2010, when the weekly series will conclude. The series will then change to a new format and become more "special events" focussed.
Two upcoming Wavelength special events include Ethiopian jazz artist Getatchew Mekuria & The Ex at the Polish Combatants hall on Saturday and Sunday, and the ALL CAPS! On The Island festival on Oct. 17 at Toronto Island's Gibraltar Point Centre For The Arts.
Wavelength was launched in 2000 as a weekly music series at College Street's Ted's Wrecking Yard. It moved to Sneaky Dee's in 2002 and has introduced Toronto artists like Broken Social Scene, Crystal Castles, Final Fantasy and Tokyo Police Club to wider audiences.
A complete list of all upcoming Wavelength shows can be found on the series' website.
