Black Mold Remains At #1 On The Chart

There wasn't a new set of weekly charts nor a Charty Chart Chat last week. I was away on a much needed vacation in Maryland, camping and sightseeing in the rejuvenated port city of Baltimore.
Skipping a week while I was away seems to have had mixed impact on the new campus chart. Black Mold's Snow Blindness Is Crystal Antz holds onto the #1 position, remaining just ahead of Ohbijou's Beacons at #2.
Lightning Dust's Infinite Light moves up three places to #3 followed by the Friends Of Bellwoods 2 compilation rising 25 places to land at #4. The Rural Alberta Advantage's Hometowns, a former #1, falls two places to #5.
The mixed changes in the top 10 continue with the next five places occupied by both the highest debut, the highest re-entry and an album that's in the same spot it was on the last chart. The Chart Sizzler Award is bestowed on Miesha And The Spanks' Mmmade For Me, which arrives at #6.
The Dead Weather's Horehound remains at #7 again on this chart, while YACHT's See Mystery Lights modestly rises two places to #8. Jay Reatard's Watch Me Fall jumps a dozen spots and enters the top 10 at #9. After debuting at #38 two charts ago, Pissed Jeans' King Of Jeans experiences quite a resurgence this week, re-entering at #10.
There are a slew of new entries arriving in the top half of this week's chart. In most weeks, debuting at #11 would secure an album the Chart Sizzler distinction, but The Hidden Cameras' Origin:Orphan must settle for runner-up status in the highest debut category. HEALTH's Get Color debuts at #13, while Young Galaxy's Invisible Republic arrives at #15. Three more new entries finish high on this week's campus chart: Amy Millan's Masters Of The Burial at #22, Lullabye Arkestra's Threats/Worship at #23 and Picastro's Become Secret at #25.
On the specialty charts, two #1s remain in the top slot: Black Mold's Snow Blindness Is Crystal Antz on the Electronic top 10 and Augury's Fragmentary Evidence on the Metal/Punk chart.
Oumou Sangare's Seya, a former #1 on the World/Folk chart, recaptures the top spot as it moves up five places to #1. Eyedea & Abilities' By The Throat, which is in its second week on the Hip Hop top 10, rises three places to land at #1. Finally, it seems the Jazz/Blues chart features a #1 album debuting on this top 10 on a semi-regular basis. This week Klang's Tea Music debuts at #1 on this tumultuous specialty chart.
