Spider (Not From Mars) Named After David Bowie

Ziggy Stardust And Spiders From Mars are pretty hard to find these days, since David Bowie long ago killed his alter ego and "backing band." So it's kind of fitting an endangered Malaysian spider has been named after Bowie.
Heteropoda davidbowie, a giant yellow, hairy spider (was it named after Bowie because it's blond?) was discovered by German "spider specialist" Peter Jager, according to The Observer.
Jager has discovered 200 new spider species over the last 10 years. He says he likes to name his discoveries after celebrities to publicize the fact that spiders, just like other animals, are also endangered.
"Along with the species, we are also quickly losing genetic resources that have evolved over more than 300 million years," Jager told The Observer.
Neil Young had a spider named after him last year. It now goes by the name myrmekiaphila neilyoungi.
