Radiohead Drummer Makes Songwriting Debut On Neil Finn Project

Radiohead drummer Phil Selway will make his songwriting debut on Neil Finn's upcoming 7 Worlds Collide: The Sun Came Out album when it's released on Sept. 29.

Selway wrote and sings on "The Ties That Bind Us," which he recorded in one take. The double disc album includes "Bodhisattva Blues," a tune written by Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien.

7 Worlds Collide: The Sun Came Out also features contributions from Wilco, KT Tunstall, former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and Finn's son, Liam Finn. It was recorded over three weeks in New Zealand over the Christmas vacation last year. Proceeds from the CD will go to Oxfam.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke will release a single featuring two new songs on Sept. 22. He's also written a song for the New Moon soundtrack. Radiohead also released two new tunes earlier this year.
