Sunset Rubdown Bassist Struck By Lightning

If you were lying by a lake in the early evening, enjoying the cool breeze and summer weather, you'd probably never expect to be struck by lightning. But that's what happened to Sunset Rubdown bassist Marc "The Nuc" Nicol.
A news post on Sunset Rubdown's label Jagjaguwar's website says Nicol was felt "a cascade of electrical spitfire from the heavens straight into his back" when he was struck while sitting by the lake. Luckily, Nicol survived the ordeal.
"My heart started back up after the electrical shock," he says. "I woke up feeling like I was suffocating and was delirious. Then I passed out for an hour, woke back up and saw the hair singed on my leg. Only then I knew."
Nicol has been left with the craziest scar I've ever seen on his back:

That looks really, really painful, but at the same time I'll bet that's the kind of thing that will make metal bands everywhere insanely jealous.
