Hey Rosetta! will play three shows in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories over the next week.
Singer/guitarist/pianist Tim Baker, bassist Josh Ward, guitarist Adam Hogan, drummer Phil Maloney, violinist Kinley Downing and cellist Romesh Thavanathan will play Iqaluit, Nt.'s Arsarnik Middle School on Saturday and The Mad Trapper in Inuvik, N.W.T. on Sept. 10. They'll conclude the mini Arctic tour at Yellowknife's Top Knight the next night.
"September is often a really busy month playing city centres and back to school shows, but we're going to hang out in Nunavut for a while, learning and looking around for whatever," Baker says.
"Being from a fairly isolated city ourselves, we're looking forward to bringing our music to people who might not see a lot of bands coming through. We can't wait."
Hey Rosetta!'s Into Your Lungs (And Around In Your Heart And On Through Your Blood) is on the short list for this year's Polaris Music Prize. The St. Johns, Nfld. will find out whether they won the $20,000 prize Sept. 21 at Toronto's Masonic Temple Concert Hall. The band will also play this year's XM Verge Music Awards at Toronto's Mod Club the next night.
Here are all of Hey Rosetta!'s upcoming shows:
