Matt Mays and Sam Roberts each had their own shows to perform, but they still found time to do some surfing in a "secret location" in Nova Scotia last month.

In a YouTube video dubbed "Sam Roberts And Matt Mays Rock Roll Surf Showdown Video," both artists arrived a few hours later than scheduled according to the organizer known as "Surfdonkey."

"I'm riding JJ's 610 single fin retro, kind of slow things down and do some cruising out there," Mays says, mentioning he wanted to take the second half of the summer off to enjoy his home province.

Roberts, meanwhile, spent a few days surfing in New Hampshire with his father before the Nova Scotia show, playing the Sidney Crosby homecoming event in Cole Harbour, N.S.

"He's such a camera hog," Roberts says as Mays deliberately walks in front of him, adding he'd like to return in the fall to do some more surfing.

The pair and some friends are then shown surfing, falling, surfing and falling some more as the Mays & El Torpedo's "Terminal Romance" serves as the soundtrack. The clip concludes with Mays performing the same song in concert during the Canoe '09 Sprint Kayak races.

In related news, Mays might have something in the works in terms of a new album, tour or possibly both. Although nothing has been announced or confirmed, his website has been updated to show an M with antlers on either side and "FALL" 2009 written below it.

Meanwhile, Roberts has a handful of U.S. dates this month before performing at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Oct. 3.

Here are Sam Roberts' tour dates:

Sept. 18 Albany, NY @ Northern Lights
Sept. 21 Northampton, MA @ Iron Horse Music Hall
Sept. 22 Portland, ME @ Port City Music Hall
Sept. 24 New York, NY @ Gramercy Theater
Oct. 3 Austin, TX @ Zilker Park (Austin City Limits Music Festival)
