Sloan's Chris Murphy Reveals Surgery Scar

Chris Murphy's scar
Sloan's set as part of the Virgin Festival Ontario on Saturday looked relatively painless and fun, but singer Chris Murphy — content to play tambourine and sing — still must be in some discomfort from his broken collarbone.

The fracture — caused by a hit-and-run incident in Halifax on July 24 — required surgery. Now, the band have posted a photo of the stitched up wound on their Twitter.

"CMM's surgery souvenir. Warning: gross:" the band wrote Saturday in all its unbandaged beauty. It's unknown how long the recovery process will take before Murphy can play the drums or strap on his bass again.

The band performed as a seven-piece outfit during their Saturday slot at Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre to help Murphy and crew, leading Murphy to say he would fire "these assholes" when he was fully healed.

Police are still investigating the incident, as witnesses were able to recall the model of the car and its license plate number.
