Chris Cornell Partners With Virgin America Airline

Chris Cornell

Incredibly lucky patrons of the Virgin America airline will be able to hear Chris Cornell's music and see his face much more often beginning Nov. 1.

That's the day a partnership between Cornell and the airline will place the former Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog and Audioslave frontman's music on all in-flight programming.

Cornell's recently released, Timbaland-produced Scream solo album will be played before passengers board airplanes, and they'll be able to listen to it during their flight. (We're not sure if you should be screaming at that prospect, but we're pretty sure Trent Reznor would think that's a bad idea.) Passengers will also be able to watch Cornell's videos in flight.

"As a new airline with a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system including more than 3,000 MP3s and music videos for our guests to choose from, music is in our DNA," says Dimitrios Papadagonas, Virgin America's marketing director. "We are thrilled to partner with a music legend like Chris Cornell and to add such high caliber content to our in-flight entertainment library — the largest one in the domestic skies."

Is Richard Branson laughing like a madman somewhere?

Cornell will play the Virgin America-sponsored Sunset Strip Festival in Los Angeles on Sept. 12.
