Dead Man's Bones — a.k.a. actor Ryan Gosling (Half Nelson, Lars And The Real Girl) and drummer Zach Shields — have announced a North American tour in support of their upcoming self-titled debut album.
Gosling and Shields will play dates on both sides of the continent throughout October... and let's hope they come on stage dressed like zombies, vampires, ghosts, werewolves or whatever other Halloween type creatures you can picture.
Dead Man's Bones, which is out Oct. 6 through Anti- Records, also features the vocal talents of the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir and was produced by Tim Anderson (I'm A Robot). You can hear "My Body's A Zombie For You" and "In The Room Where You Sleep" on the duo's MySpace page.
Gosling and Shields met in 2005 and both discovered they were obsessed with ghosts. They began writing a soundtrack to a play for a story about a monster in love with a ghost, but it was scrapped due to financial problems. They continued with the songs and ended up with an album instead of a play.
