Amy Winehouse made her first U.K. appearance in a year when she appeared as The Specials' surprise guest at the V Festival in Chelmsford, England this weekend.
Winehouse showed up on stage dressed in a very appropriate tu-tone tank top to sing on "You're Wondering Now," from the ska-punk legends' classic 1979 self-titled debut and their 1981 U.K. #1 single, "Ghost Town."
The Specials, who reunited and played a series of gigs earlier this year, introduced her as "our good friend Amy."
"While living in St. Lucia, Amy missed the band's reunion tour and decided to head to V to catch her favourite artists," a spokesperson for Winehouse told BBC News.
"Meeting them backstage, they invited her to guest for them and made her dream come true."
Winehouse is a big Specials fan, having recorded covers of "Hey Little
Rich Girl" and "Monkey Man" while making 2006's Back To Black.
Earlier in the day, Winehouse appeared with Pete Doherty during his solo set at the festival. She didn't sing with him, but gave him a kiss on the cheek and whispered in his ear.
Winehouse made her live comeback at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival in May. Her problem-filled set finished after six songs and was dogged by sound issues. Winehouse was also booed on stage during her appearance at the V Festival in Chelmsford last year.
