Slipknot have been forced to cancel two dates in Seattle and Kennewick, Wash. because drummer Joey "#1" Jordison was hospitalized.
Slipknot's Seattle gig was part of the KISW Pain In The Grass show on Saturday. Frontman Corey "#8" Taylor had to tell a crowd waiting for Slipknot to take the stage that the band would not be playing.
"There's a severe medical emergency," Taylor told fans, according to NME.com. "[Jordison's] OK, though. He sends his love to everyone here, and wants you to know he wishes he could be here."
Taylor added that fans should hold on to their ticket stubs because Slipknot would reschedule the cancelled shows.
"We will be back in a couple of months to make this up. I want you all to send as much love as you can to Joey Jordison," Taylor said, according to the website.
It was originally thought Jordison would be well enough to play the Kennewick show at the Toyota Center, but the
Mid Columbia Tri-City Herald reports the band had to cancel the show after their equipment had been set up.
That show will also be rescheduled and Toyota Center ticket office manager Rick Capello said details about the new date will be announced next week, according to Gigwise.com.
Jordison broke his ankle last year, which led to Slipknot cancelling several European dates, including appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in England. Jordison was then told to rest for six to eight weeks.
