Our Lady Peace May Do Summersault Touring Festival Again In Future

When CHARTattack spoke to Our Lady Peace about their new album, Burn Burn, they dangled a bonus morsel that could make for an exciting summer a couple years down the road: the Summersault touring festival isn't dead.
"We're bringing it back... sometime," said bassist Duncan Coutts, speculatively, before adding, "2012."
Drummer Jeremy Taggart instantly interjected that it would be more like "2024," but we're going to hold out some hope for sooner.
The OLP-organized Summersault Festival went across Canada on two separate occasions — a two-date trial run in 1998 and a full eight-date tour in 2000 — and featured the likes of Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, A Perfect Circle, Catherine Wheel, Finger Eleven, Deftones, Sum 41, Sloan, Garbage and I Mother Earth, amongst others.
More seriously, Taggart said of Summersault: "That was a gas, man. That was amazing. The fact that we had, like, the Pumpkins and A Perfect Circle and Deftones, Foo Fighters... It was just a total beauty to have to see these guys play every night."
Taggart says the biggest impediment to doing it again is... well, the actual doing it.
"It's so hard to put together," he said. "It was a year of planning to put the bands together. Like, ask any promoter nowadays putting together a festival. It's not as easy as it was then.
"At the time, we were playing with all these bands and it just kinda worked out. Now it's a lot harder now, it's a lot more cutthroat these days."
Still, Coutts isn't closing the door.
"It would be great to do again at some point," the bassist says. "We'll bring it back."
