Beast Lead Quebec Indie Music Awards Nominees

Beast lead the list of nominees for this year's Quebec Indie Music Awards with five nods.

Betty Bonifassi and Jean-Phi Goncalves were nominated for artist of the year, international career of the year, show of the year, electro album of the year and breakthrough artist of the year.

Singer/songwriter Coeur De Pirate and 2009 Polaris Music Prize short listers Patrick Watson both have four nominations apiece.

The Quebec Indie Music Awards will be handed out on Oct. 4 at Montreal's Club Soda. This year's nominees were determined by a jury of 200 journalists, bookers, record store owners and members of cultural organizations in Quebec.

Winners will be decided based on online voting, and you can vote for your picks in 17 of this year's categories at the GAMIQ website.
