Buffalo, N.Y. pop rock band Cute Is What We Aim For have put an end to their four-year career as a band.

Singer Shaant Hacikyan tweeted earlier this week that he was going to launch a solo career, but bassist Dave Melillo told Alternative Press that the band had split up because of Hacikyan's attitude.

"At the beginning of August I let Shaant know I was leaving the band..." he said. "At the beginning of July Mikey, Jeff, some family friends and I sat down with Shaant. We told him things needed to change as far as attitude and demeanor goes.

"I want to make it known that I shut him out of my life after that. He needed to be on his own if he was going to do anything positive for himself. There was not a visible change in his attitude or work ethic when I got back to Buffalo, so I decided to live my own life."

Cute Is What We Aim For have made no official statement about the breakup, but guitarist Jeff Czum told Alternative Press he also quit the band around the same time as Hacikyan.

Cute Is What We Aim For formed in 2005. The band released their The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch a year later. Bassist Fred Cimato quit the band that year, only to have his replacement quit in 2007. Cimato then rejoined the band, but quit again in 2008 and was replaced by Melillo. Drummer Tom Falcone also quit last year. Cute Is What We Aim For's most recent album was last year's Rotation.
