Moby Side Project The Little Death Releasing Album Sept. 1

The Little Death, the orgasm-inspired New York group featuring Moby, will release their self-titled debut album Sept. 1 through TopSpin and on the band's official website.

The record will be released digitally on iTunes on Nov. 2, but you can hear it now on the band's website.

The quartet — Moby on bass and guitar, Daron Murphy on guitar, bass and harmonica, drummer Aaron Brooks and singer Laura Dawn — was conceived in early 2008 with the idea to just play live shows.

"We thought we'd be luddites and just say, if you want to see us, you have to come see us live, because that's the only way this music exists," Dawn says.

The 13-track album was recorded in one room straight to tape with each song given three takes to nail it. Song titles include "That Bone," "Love Or A Gun," "Shake And Tremble" and "Hurricane." The album will climax with "Make Me."

There's no word on whether the group plans to tour behind the album. Moby will launch a European and North American tour behind Wait For Me which runs through late October, including coming to Canada for a few stops.
