Alanis Morissette Working On Book, New Album

At just 35 years of age, Alanis Morissette has released seven studio albums, starred in feature films and appeared on television shows like Degrassi: The Next Generation and Weeds, has won seven Grammy Awards and 12 Juno Awards and has been inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame.
But that's not enough for the ambitious singer/songwriter, who is set to add "author" to her c.v.
Morrissette recently told Rollingstone.com she's halfway through writing a "non-linear book," and it's typically cerebral and personal.
"It's about all the themes I obsess and pontificate over," she told the website in typically Dawson's Creek-esque language. "All this sort of body-dysmorphia-spirit humour, travelogues, photographs, articles I've written in magazines with a lot of touching on health and detoxing and retoxing and the importance of integrating it all."
The book doesn't yet have a title, release date or publisher. Morissette previously told Rolling Stone magazine she was working on a memoir in 2006, which was about women's issues. Morissette said it was half done last year and it's unclear if this is the same book.
As soon as she's finished with her book, Morissette will launch herself right into working on the follow-up to last year's Flavors Of Entanglement, which could end up being two albums.
"I have an idea for two records," she told Rollingstone.com. "Usually two journals make a record and I have about 10 full right now. As soon as the book is finished I'll dive into one of the two."
