Kanye Takes Vow Of Silence... Kinda

Kanye West is fed up. He's just trying to do his thing — you know, holding it down as the Michael Jordan of rap — and those nosy journalists keep getting all up in his business.

Rumours West was referring to himself as the new King Of Pop began circulating late last month. 'Ye fought back in his usual manner — an all-caps blog on his website — but the "Stronger" rapper is apparently still bitter.

Does he realize the website that originally started the "rumour" is a satire website? What exactly does it say about him that various media outlets republished the story because they thought it was true?

While West hosted a dinner last week with designer Hussein Chalayan, West claimed he wouldn't be doing any more interviews, according to the WWD Fashion website. So far, he's stayed true to his word.

WWD Fashion reports during his performance on Wednesday at a Casio G-Shock party — an event that was, ironically, marketed as a press conference — West broke into a freestyle rant against the press that included lines like "I'm sorry I broke your arm/I meant to break your camera."

When West was introduced to a reporter after his set, he dodged every question and instead directed the focus to his model girlfriend, Amber Rose. [I thought they broke up? - Ed]

"[She] just did her first shoot for Ford," he told the journalist.

At least West's content to let someone else take the spotlight for once.

West's plan does seem foolproof. After all, he is the voice of this generation, so he should be able to stay relevant based solely on his musical talents.

I can't help but wonder, though, what will happen when (and if) his line of shoes comes out. You can caps lock at me until your fingertips fall off, 'Ye, but there's no way I'm gonna buy those suckers unless I get the answer to the vitally important question, "what was the motivation behind these designs?"

Just sayin'.
