Robbie Williams Faces Reality

We're not exactly sure where the dude's been lately — maybe he was abducted by aliens? — but Robbie Williams is back and ready to release a new album.

Reality Killed The Video Star, the UFO-hunting singer's eighth studio album, is the follow-up to 2006's Rudebox and drops Nov. 9.

Let's hope Williams doesn't decide to promote this album by donning the same gorilla suit he was seen in last year — wearing the same outfit twice is just tacky.

Reality Killed The Video Star was produced by Trevor Horn (Paul McCartney, Cher, Tina Turner). No tracklist has been revealed yet, but we do know Reality Killed The Video Star features the cryptically titled first single "Bodies."

Is it a song about alien bodies? Celestial bodies? Unidentified flying bodies? A Drowning Pool cover? The track will be released on Oct. 12, with a digital version hitting the net the day before.

Williams wrote about the track in a blog on his official website on Thursday.

"So,the first single?i didn't think it was going to be a single at all...But Trevor(Horn) sprinkles some fairy dust on it and it romped up on the outside shouting 'ME<ME>ME....Choose me......!' so,we did."

Williams was scheduled to shoot the video for "Bodies" in the Los Angeles desert on Friday.

Williams also dispelled rumours he would replace Michael Jackson at the late King Of Pop's 50 dates at London, England's O2 Arena.

"The story about me filling in for MR.Jackson (RIP) is TOTALLY made up," the former Take That member wrote.

It's probably for the best — having an alien-obsessed popstar fill in for Jackson, who appeared as an alien in Men In Black II would have been slightly awkward.

A video detailing Williams' first day back at work — which seems to consist of the singer posing while being photographed in designer outfits — has been posted on Williams' website.

It's hard to remember the debonair heartthrob in the clip is the same guy who once smoked a shoe and wanted to stab himself after a bad acid trip.
