La Toya Jackson,
Michael Jackson's sister, reportedly has computer hard drives containing over 100 of the
late singer's unreleased tracks.
Frank DiLeo, Michael Jackson's manager, told
Rolling Stone magazine that after Michael Jackson died, his family removed everything from his rented California mansion. Those items may have included a hard drive with the unreleased songs.
The hard drives reportedly hold songs Michael Jackson recorded with Black Eyed Peas' Will.I.Am., Akon and Ne-Yo, according to Billboard.com. DiLeo also told
Rolling Stone the drives contain at least 100 songs that were never released, including tracks that were left off 1987's
Bad.
DiLeo told Reuters he thinks the hard drives are at the Jackson family's compound in Encino, Calif., and said Michael Jackson's estate lawyers are going to try and recover them to log their contents.
In the meantime, it looks like a location has finally been set for Michael Jackson's burial. The Jackson family has decided to bury the King Of Pop at Los Angeles' Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery, as was
rumoured last month.
Although Jermaine Jackson wanted his brother buried at Michael Jackson's former home at Neverland Ranch, the family has already filled out the paperwork to bury Jacko at Forest Lawn.
Michael Jackson's estate administrators are reportedly planning a motion picture, TV special, tribute concert and other initiatives to celebrate the singer's life and generate millions of dollars.
The network also reports a $60 million U.S. deal has been signed with Columbia Pictures to make a feature-length film out of over 100 hours of footage of the rehearsals Michael Jackson did for his planned run of 50
shows at London, England's O2 Arena this year. Michael Jackson's estate would see 90 per cent of the profits, while AEG Live, which was promoting the London shows, would see the remaining 10 per cent.
Meanwhile, Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson's mother, was awarded custody of the singer's three children late last month.
Lawyers for Katherine Jackson signed a deal with Debbie Rowe, the birth mother of two of the children, which gives Rowe visitation rights that will be set by a child psychologist chosen by Rowe and Katherine Jackson.
Michael Jackson's cause of death has still not been determined, and his autopsy results have been postponed indefinitely, according to the
Los Angeles Times.
A "law enforcement official" told the Associated Press Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's cardiologist, reportedly gave the singer "multiple sedatives" and the anaesthetic Propofol before Michael Jackson died.
A law enforcement official told the Associated Press that Murray gave Michael Jackson benzodiazepines, sedatives usually used to calm patients before surgery, before injecting him with Propofol.
Ed Chernoff, Murray's lawyer, told the Associated Press the allegations are "ridiculous" and said they were not going to respond "to any accusations from any unnamed sources."
Murray found Michael Jackson at his Los Angeles home on June 25 — the day he died — and is the main figure in what the Los Angeles Police Department is calling a manslaughter
investigation. He has not been deemed a suspect or charged with anything.
