Drake reinjured the torn ACL in his knee and has pulled out of the America's Most Wanted tour with Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy and Soulja Boy.
Drake (real name Aubrey Graham) recently fell on stage during a show on the America's Most Wanted tour in Camden, N.J. and had to be helped off stage.
"I thought this shit was only on his TV show," Lil Wayne remarked according to Rollingstone.com after Drake fell on stage, making a joke about Drake's portrayal of the wheelchair-bound Jimmy Brooks on TV's Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Drake will have surgery in Toronto over the next few days, and will likely have to spend the next six to 10 weeks recovering before he's well enough to go back on the road.
"Birthday Sex" Jeremih and Pleasure P will take over his spot on the tour. Chris Brown took the rapper's place during the tour's stop on Sunday in Virginia Beach.
Drake originally tore his ACL on June 25, but managed to keep touring and playing despite being in pain. He had been receiving acupuncture treatments to lessen the swelling in his knee, but the fall has made it much worse.
"I embarked on this tour with a torn ACL, MCL and LCL and due to the events that happened the other night lord only knows what other damage i have done," Drake wrote on his blog on Sunday.
"On the bright side I will begin the reflecting and soul searching that its going to take to make this album and my outfit on the night I fell was crack.
"I will forever push myself beyond the limits despite advice and recommendations given because even with this new found success I am still the kid who wanted this more than anything in the world."
Drake plans to release his debut album, Thank Me Later, sometime this year through Lil Wayne's Young Money imprint.
