MTV VMA Nominations Announced

Beyonce and Lady GaGa lead the list of nominees for this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

The former Destiny's Child singer's bone structure-defying, bust-a-hip clip for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" could potentially take home a whopping nine moonmen this year. The video shows up in every category in which it could conceivably be nominated (you aren't likely to see Beyonce up for best new artist or best male video, for example).

Lady GaGa also received nine nominations. Her video for "Poker Face" picked up four nods, while the clip for "Paparazzi" received five nominations.

Elsewhere, Britney Spears was nominated seven times. Eminem received four nominations for mocking the likes of Bret Michaels and Lindsay Lohan in his clip for "We Made You," while Kanye West and Coldplay also received four nods.

This year's Video Music Awards will be held Sept. 13 and will feature performances from Taylor Swift, Green Day and Muse.
