Sloan's Chris Murphy was involved in a hit-and-run accident last Friday in Toronto which left him with a broken collarbone and bruises.

Murphy was on his bike when he was hit by a car and thrown, according to The Coast. A statement from the band says Murphy was released from hospital on Saturday morning and is recovering at home.

"We're confident that he will have a full recovery and he has not sustained any critical injuries," the statement reads. "Witnesses were able to report the license number and model of the vehicle, and police are now investigating."

Sloan are to perform at the Canadian Forces Halifax Rock Fest at Halifax's Citadel Hill on Sunday. While Murphy will not be able to play bass or drums during the gig, he still hopes to sing. Other members will take care of his other usual musical duties. Misadventure seems to follow The Murph. He broke his wrist in 2006 after a hockey pratfall.

Here are all of Sloan's upcoming dates in support of last year's Parallel Play:

Aug. 2 Halifax, NS @ Citadel Hill (Canadian Forces Rock Fest)
Aug. 7 Calgary, AB @ Lakes Of Kastynstone (Drenched Fest)
Aug. 8 Brandon, MB @ Turtle Crossing at Curran Park (X-Fest)
Aug. 29 Orillia, ON @ Burl's Creek Park (Virgin Festival Ontario)
