Alt.country songstress Carolyn Mark and alt.country band NQ Arbuckle's joint rock album, Let's Just Stay Here, will be released on Oct. 13 through Mint Records.
The album features guest appearances from Corb Lund, Toronto Celtic fiddler Miranda Mulholland, bluegrass singer Jenny Whiteley, Lily Fawn and about 17 gallons of rum. Six of the disc's 12 songs were written by Mark, three were written by NQ Arbuckle frontman Neville Quinlan, and there are covers of Justin Rutledge's "Too Sober To Sleep" and two other tracks. Let's Just Stay Here was recorded at Toronto's Lincoln Social Club.
Mark also states she wants to have her second cookbook, The Terrible Hostess: Recipes For Disaster, Vol. II, "ready for the Calgary Folk Festival" on her website. The Calgary Folk Music Festival just finished, so the book is either out now, sometime very soon, or in, like, another year.
You can see NQ Arbuckle at Toronto's Festival Of Beer on Aug. 9 at the Canadian National Exhibition.
Mark just announced a tour of Ontario and Quebec with openers $100 and Sun Bear. She's also planning an eastern Canadian tour with Luther Wright and an album release tour with NQ Arbuckle, but dates have yet to be announced.
