Courtney Love Rants About Female Musicians

Courtney Love thinks most female musicians can't hack it — except Spinnerette's Brody Dalle, that is.

Love posted a rant (in nearly full sentences, surprisingly) on her Twitter on Tuesday in which she called most female musicians "pathetic."

She saved most of her hatred for Gossip Girl actress turned singer Taylor Momsen and Australia's The Veronicas and called that band's Jess Origliasso out for stealing her image.

"why does Taylor Whatsit deeply disturb me and why is the Blonde one from the verons or whatever they are clled wearing my actual clothes?" she wrote.

"I will do MY job you kids runalong and find your own little jobs whne you can even THINK that you can play aROCK show for 3.5 hours call me," she continued.

"No, Yes but the chick from Goissip Girl and the verons girls arent actually playing ROCKMUSIC anyone takes seriousl. Itscrappy POP," she wrote in another post.

"i mean call a Spade a Spade! i am Slow but @BrodyDalle is the only other female who plays guitar for shit.PAthetic.Learn yr Craft.Or Leave," she finished.

It's probably worth noting that critics have repeatedly compared Dalle's voice to Love. You can decide for yourself whether that makes Love's shoutout to Dalle redundant self-love.

Origliasso told Australia's The Daily Telegraph that Love is just jealous because she's dating Daniel "Azaria" Byrne, lead singer of The Follow.

"I guess she just wanted my attention by writing shit," Origliasso said. "She is madly in love with Azaria and she's very jealous I'm dating him.

"All I really wanted to say to her was: 'Come on Courtney. Cut all the bullshit and release another record already. I loved your music and I know you've got it in you.'"

Although Love is known for her rants on her MySpace page and her tweets rarely make any kind of sense, we can't help but wonder if her Twitter's been hacked somehow.

If you check out her page, there have been an obscene amount of posts over the last 24 hours, and most of them are replies to the same user. She also seems to have been posting round the clock. We wouldn't put this behaviour past Love, but at the same time it is a wee bit fishy...

Love has said she's finished Nobody's Daughter, the follow-up to 2004's America's Sweetheart, and wants to release it under the Hole moniker.

Former bandmate Melissa Auf Der Maur says she doesn't understand the point, while former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson says she can't.
