Carrie Brownstein Vs. Weezer

Former Sleater-Kinney singer/guitarist Carrie Brownstein really, really isn't impressed with the new songs Weezer debuted at the Jisan Valley Rock Festival in South Korea last weekend.
Brownstein, writing on her National Public Radio Monitor Mix blog, called Weezer "the ultimate novelty band" and dissed "I'm Your Daddy" and "Girl Got Hot."
"I don't know if Weezer hates its fans or just the (apparently) stifling concept of sincerity, but you should listen to these two new songs if you weren't already convinced of Weezer's contempt for music," she wrote.
Weezer have been recording the follow-up to last year's self-titled (or Red Album) disc, which they say is nearly done. It still doesn't have a release date or a title.
