Chris Martin On Simpsons

Coldplay's Chris Martin has signed on to appear on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons.

Homer Simpson wins the lottery and hires Coldplay to play a special birthday concert for Bart in the episode. It's not yet known when the episode will air.

"When Bart goes to the bathroom, Coldplay has to stop," executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly's website.

I'll refrain from making a "Coldplay bathroom joke" and just say Coldplay strike me more as the type of band Ned Flanders would enjoy...

The Simpsons' 21st season begins Sept. 21. Sarah Silverman, The Smothers Brothers, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad) actresses Neve Campbell (Scream, Wild Things) and Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries, The Devil Wears Prada) and the late singer Eartha Kitt (who recorded her parts before she passed in December) will also make guest appearances this season.
