Dean Lickyer Sign To Underground Operations

Dean Lickyer

Rockers Dean Lickyer have signed to Toronto-based indie label Underground Operations — home to Protest The Hero and LIGHTS — and willl release their debut self-titled EP on Oct. 6 through the label.

The EP will be produced by Justin Koop (Grade, Saint Alvia, Silverstein).

Since making their television debut on the MuchMusic reality show DisBand, Dean Lickyer went on to be named "Best Band Of CMW 09" at this year's Canadian Music Week, embarked on a North American tour and opened for KISS at the Rogers Bayfest in Sarnia, Ont.

"We are very happy to offically announce our signing to Underground Operations," the band wrote in a July 22 MySpace blog entry. "We have always respected their practices and views on the industry and the music it cradles. We are excited to grow into our own with UO..."

"Since we first had the privilege of meeting Mark [Spicoluk, Underground Operations founder] on DisBand, we have come to know him and the UO team to the point where they are practically family," commented lead vocalist Josh Alvernia. "We are very happy to make it 'official,' and are looking forward to our first release under the UO label this fall."

The band will appear at a number of outdoor events this summer before embarking on a fall tour in support of Flogging Molly, Inward Eye and Gallows.
