Gonzales Goes Deluxe

King of the keys Gonzales will release a deluxe edition of his 2004 Solo Piano album Sept. 22 through Arts & Crafts.

Solo Piano: The Deluxe Edition includes the original recording as well as a bonus DVD of From Major To Minor, a documentary about the Peaches friend/eccentric artist.

The DVD includes footage of select Gonzales (real name Jason Charles Beck) performances. During "Masterclass," concertgoers join Gonzales, the Daft Punk robot, Phillipe Katerine, Feist and Teki Latex on stage for music lessons.

The film also features a video of Gonzales' "White Gloves Concert," where the former MC shared the stage with Feist, Jamie Lidell and Mocky. Bonus material includes video of a Berlin press conference in which Gonzales dubbed himself "President of the Berlin Underground" following his move from Toronto to the German city in 1998.

Gonzales has released two records as Jason Beck and eight under his current moniker. The Canadian-born songwriter/actor/electro artist, who now resides in Paris, France, has produced and collaborated with numerous well-known artists such as Bjork, Buck 65, Peaches, Lidell and Jane Birkin.

Gonzales broke the world record for longest solo-artist performance this May, when he gave a 27-hour, 3-minute and 44-second piano concert at Cine 13 Theatre in Paris. His latest album, Soft Power, was released last year.
