Matthew Good will release his fourth solo album,
Vancouver, on Oct. 5 through Universal Music Canada.
Vancouver is said to be a concept album about Good's experiences living in the city of the same name. Good recorded the follow-up to 2007's
Hospital Music at Vancouver's Warehouse Studios, where he produced it himself. No track listing has been finalized for the album yet, but it's said to feature 11 tracks, all of which Good demoed on his
website in 2007 and 2008.
"The Boy That Could Explode," "A Silent Army In The Trees," "Life In Spite Of Itself, "Great Whales Of The Sea" and "The Vancouver National Anthem" — which features vocals from Pete Yorn — are among the tracks that are said to be included on
Vancouver.
Vancouver's first single — which has yet to be named — will be released to radio in mid-August and will be available for listening 24 hours a day on Good's website. Good will post the entire album on his website beginning Sept. 6, one month from its official release date. Fans will also be able to order limited edition vinyl and autographed copies of
Vancouver through Good's website.
Good also plans to tour behind
Vancouver, and dates will be announced at a later date.
