Simple Plan Headline Gananoque Festival

The inaugural 1000 Islands Music Fest is off to a star-studded start.
The event's recently announced final lineup includes several well-known Canadian and international acts such as Simple Plan, Akon, Arkells and Kardinal Offishall, and performances from Randy and Mr. Lahey of Trailer Park Boys fame. One remaining major artist will be announced this week.
The festival, which will feature two stages and camping for up to 4,000 people, takes place Aug. 13 to 15 at Dingman Farm in Gananoque, Ont., near Kingston, Ont. Fifteen thousand concertgoers from Ontario, Quebec and New York State are expected to attend.
Tickets for the festival can be purchased at ticketbreak.ca or at JCS Computers and Box Office Entertainment in Gananoque. Tickets will also be sold at Tyroute Telus locations in Belleville, Ont. and Kingston and JCS Computers in Gananoque. Day passes will run you $35.13 for Thursday, $58.59 for Friday, and $105.51 for Saturday, while weekend passes cost $164.16.
