Young, Crow, McLachlan Staging Benefit Concert

Neil Young
Neil Young, Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan will perform at West Vancouver's Ambleside Park on Sept. 12 as part of the inaugural "Summer Sessions At Ambleside," a benefit concert presented by the City Of West Vancouver and the Sarah McLachlan Foundation.

Proceeds from the concert will go to McLachlan's Foundation, which provides free music programs to youth in under-served communities.

"I am thrilled to have Neil and Sheryl join me on stage at Ambleside Park this September to help raise funds for my Foundation," McLachlan said in a press release issued this afternoon. "We hope the event will entertain and inspire, while increasing awareness of the need for music in children’s lives."

The concert will be an all-day affair with "performances from an eclectic array of talented Canadian artists," though no other acts have been confirmed. More information will be available on the festival's website soon.

Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. PT by phone at 1-(866)-514-5050 or through Selectyourtickets.com. Prices range from $89 for general admission to $139 for reserved tickets.

In related news, McLachlan will perform Aug. 5 at Edmonton's Gallagher Park as part of a special fundraising concert with Tracy Chapman and Meaghan Smith. The concert benefits the Edmonton Folk Festival's Festival Endowment Fund.
