Harry Potter actress Emma Watson is about to cross over to the dark side.
The wholesome 19-year-old has agreed to star in an upcoming musical produced by Marilyn Manson, a gothic take on the classic Cinderella fairytale, according to the U.K.'s The Sun tabloid.
The role in the as-yet-untitled film will be Watson's chance to break out into acting outside the Harry Potter franchise. Co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint have both pursued other work on stage and screen, while Watson has only appeared in a 2007 BBC television film and leant her voice to last year's animated The Tale Of Despereaux. But Watson hasn't been slacking off — she's been prepping to attend university in the United States this September during her down time.
Manson also plans to release a fantasy horror flick, Phantasmagoria: The Visions Of Lewis Carroll — which he wrote, directed, produced, and scored — in 2010. Manson plays author Lewis Carroll and ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood plays Alice's alter ego. Tilda Swinton also stars as Lewis Carroll's dream wife.
The shock rocker released his seventh studio album, The High End Of Low, in May.
Manson will play the following shows:
