3 Inches Of Blood Bring Doom

Prepare to meet thy doom: Heavy metal torchbearers 3 Inches Of Blood will release their fourth studio album, Here Waits Thy Doom, Sept. 8 through Century Media and have announced a huge tour in support of it.

The 14-track record was recorded at Seattle's House Sound Recordings with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, High On Fire).

Here Waits Thy Doom also includes covers of songs by Blue Oyster Cult, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Zeke. You can hear "Call Of The Hammer" on the band's MySpace page.

"We've again taken what we do a step further and not made Fire Up The Blades part 2, we've stuck to our formula — no formula," says guitarist Shane Clark. "We are true metal fans and we've made an unapologetic record.

"I think this [is] our most focused record to date, from writing all the way to mixing there was no unnecessary drama or too many cooks in the kitchen. This is 3 Inches Of Blood at its most punishing, epic and mighty."

3 Inches Of Blood formed in Vancouver in 1999 and released their Battlecry Under A Wintersun debut in 2002. Advance And Vanquish followed two years later, and the band's most recent disc is 2007's Fire Up The Blades.
