Pearl Jam Set Release Date

Pearl Jam's Backspacer will be released Sept. 20 and the band have announced some more North American dates to support it.

The Brendan O'Brien-produced (Billy Talent, Bruce Springsteen) follow-up to the band's 2006 self-titled album will be preceded by its first single, "The Fixer," which will be released to radio on July 20. Backspacer's track listing has still not been announced.

Backspacer was also the name of Pearl Jam's 375-kilogram leatherback turtle that won the Great Turtle Race in April. The record will be exclusively available through Target stores in the United States, but will also be available through Pearl Jam's fan club, Ten Club.

Pearl Jam have announced new American dates in support of the album. The band will gig through the United States throughout September and October following a string of European and North American dates that will take place in August. The band have also said they will play Australia and New Zealand in November, according to Rollingstone.com.
