Virgin Festival Ontario Acts Leak

It appears Virgin Festival Ontario will indeed be held at Burl's Creek Park in Orillia, Ont. on Aug. 29 and 30.

Reports circulated a few months ago that the Ontario Virgin Festival stop, which called Toronto's Olympic Island home over the last few years, was changing sites.

Both Santigold fancier Trouble Andrew and electro-rap outfit Thunderheist have posted dates and locations for the festival and appear confirmed for the shows.

According to Thunderheist's MySpace page, the band are confirmed for Aug. 30 at the location with "VIRGIN FESTIVAL" describing the event. Meanwhile, Trouble Andrew's website says the band will play both nights of Virgin Festival Ontario, now in its fourth year.

No other acts have been confirmed for the event, but an announcement is expected soon. Speculation surrounds who the headliners might be.

Green Day's upcoming North American tour includes a lone Ontario date in Hamilton. That's led to suggestions they could headline one of the two nights, and both are open on the band's concert calendar.

Other possibilities include Blur, who were considering a string of North American dates after reuniting for festival shows in Britain earlier this summer.

The Beastie Boys have Aug. 29 open, but have to be in San Francisco — almost a full continent away — the next day.
