Burlington, Ont. hardcore band Grade have reunited... sort of.
On Monday, the band will start recording some new songs with Bane for a seven-inch compilation that will come with the final issue of At Both Ends Hardcore Magazine.
Bassist Matt Jones says he's been jamming with vocalist Kyle Bishop, Greg Taylor, Shawn Magill and Saint Alvia's Matt Richmond or "a little while now" and they ended up having a pretty good time.
"What started out as getting together to jam for fun has produced some pretty awesome new songs and we can't wait to get in the studio and see what we can do with them," Jones wrote on the band's MySpace blog on Tuesday. "No plans for reunion tours or albums or any of that stuff right now, we're just having a good time playing together again and we'll see where it goes from there."
The seven-inch compilation will include a new song from Grade, Bane's first new recording in four years, a tune from Between Earth And Sky and another track from Portland, Ore.'s Unrestrained.
Grade formed in 1993 and their And Such Is Progress debut came out four years later. It was followed by three more albums before the band called it quits after 2001's Headfirst To Hell. Bishop went on to found The Black Maria. Taylor went on to play in Jersey and is now a member of Saint Alvia.
