The Flaming Lips' Embryonic, their upcoming double album, will feature guest appearances from MGMT and Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O.

Embryonic still does not have a release date, but The Flaming Lips have said it will most likely come out in September. Drummer Steven Drozd recently told Billboard.com its music sounds a lot like Joy Division and Miles Davis.

"We have MGMT doing a song with us and we have Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs doing a couple songs with us," singer/guitarist Wayne Coyne told Swiss website Die Klangschau. "For the Karen O tracks, I just called her up in her hotel room and we just did it right over the telephone. It's pretty absurd."

But those aren't the only guest contributions on Embryonic. The disc will also feature a mathematician. Seriously.

"We have this weird mathematician guy from Germany doing some spoken words stuff on the record," Coyne said.
